DAY TOURS & ACTIVITIES IN OUDTSHOORN

A selection of awesome things to do in and around Oudtshoorn

About Oudtshoorn

Oudtshoorn is a town in the Klein Karoo area of South Africa’s Western Cape. Otherwise known as the “ostrich capital of the world” and rests along the Route 62 wine route. It is defined as a semi-desert area with a unique and sensitive natural environment.

Various highlights of Oudtshoorn include the central C.P. Nel Museum which traces the ostrich-feather boom era and houses a working synagogue, visiting various Ostrich Farms, the Cango Caves and the Cango Wildlife Ranch, just to name a view. Oudtshoorn has a lot to offer the discerning traveller.

The region is home to the spectacular Cango Caves, Africa’s largest show cave system; an ecological hotspot where three distinct plant biomes (succulent karoo, cape thicket and fynbos) converge; and the Swartberg mountain range, which is part of the Cape Floral World Heritage Site.

We incorporate a few of the highlights in our Oudtshoorn Splendour Day Tour. Alternatively, join us on a wine tasting experience through the Karoo on our Klein Karoo Wine Route Meander.
