This full-day guided trip takes you to some of the Klein Karoo splendours such as the Cango Caves, Cango Wildlife Ranch, a visit to the Cango Ostrich Farm and more.
Outeniqua Pass:
The Outeniqua Pass is a scenic mountain pass in the Western Cape, South Africa, that carries the N9/N12 national road through the Outeniqua Mountains north of George. It connects George and the Garden Route coastal plain with Oudtshoorn and the Little Karoo. It was constructed between 1943 and 1951, replacing the Montague Pass as the main route from George to the interior.
Cango Caves
The Cango Caves are located in Precambrian limestones at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountain range near the town of Oudtshoorn. The caves are a series of dripstone caverns that open into vast halls of spectacular towering stalagmite and stalactite formations with names like ‘the bridal couple’, ‘glass flower fantasy' ‘weird cango candle’ and ‘the hanging shawl’.
Safari Ostrich Farm
Safari Ostrich Farm is a working ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn. It offers the only Tractor Safari ride on an Ostrich Farm in the world. You can enjoy a fun-filled, interactive ostrich farm experience by taking a ride on the Tractor, as well as inside the breeder bird camps. You will see South African “Black”, Kenyan “Red” and Zimbabwean “Blue” Ostriches. Ostrich products such as bags, decorative eggs or other items made from Ostrich leather or feathers can be bought at the well-stocked shop on site.
Cango Wildlife Ranch
Cango Wildlife Ranch is a wildlife ranch about 3 kilometres north of the town of Oudtshoorn in South Africa. It was established in 1977 as a crocodile show farm. The ranch is renowned for offering once-in-a-lifetime encounters with rare and endangered animals while incorporating conservation through education. The ranch offers guided tours, unique encounter programs and even the World’s 1st Croc-Cage Dive.
